How to Become a BSP CZ Member Airline – Basic Information

The initial procedure is very simple. The local IATA office based in Prague requests a letter (on airline’s letterhead) in which the airline expresses its intention to join BSP (the airline can decide if it is joining both CZ and SK BSP markets or SK or CZ only) and states the commencing date from which the airline would like to start its selling activities.
The person responsible for the joining procedure should be mentioned in the letter including the contact details, so that the IATA office could approach him/her directly. The whole joining procedure could be a matter of a fortnight; the preferable joining dates are always on the 1st or on the 16th of the month. We always summarize and send the description of the basic BSP procedures to the contact person by return, in order to ensure quick and smooth set up of the airline in the BSP.
No official permissions are needed from the Ministries of Transport, neither from the Czech nor from the Slovak office.
There is also no need to establish a local GSA, this is however recommended by the IATA office for commercial reasons.

    Basic joining details

    • The joining fee USD 8,000, – is required for the year 2007 from the joining IATA airline. Only one joining fee is to be paid for the participation both in the Czech and Slovak Republics.
    • Airline has to able o handle electronic ticketing on agent sales level
    • The management charge will be calculated on the basis of the airline’s estimation of a number of UTPs sold during the year. This charge is calculated for the whole year and will be charged in proportion every billing period by local IATA office.
    • "Data Processing Costs“ and „charges for STD usage“ are charged centrally from IATA GVA.
    • The regional DPC – ADP Madrid – runs BSP processing for BSP CZ/SK.
    • All BSP procedures are according to IATA resolutions; the local/specific BSP procedures are communicated well advance to the joining date.
    • The remittances can be sent to any account advised by the airline, however the IATA ICCS scheme is recommended as the best practice for performing settlements.
